Antiques at Fanny's

See the birdie!

I really didn't accomplish anything at all today.I guess it's OK, since I'm on vaca! I really shouldn't say that at all. Spent some time with my Hubby out and about. He had a errand to run. So, I found myself in his truck on the way to Patterson, NY.If you just started reading the Blog. I love Vintage! So you know where I had to stop? Yup! The Antique shop. Fanny Doolittle had alittle bit of everything, including jewelery.Jam packed from floor to ceiling with goods, new and old. After Fanny's, we went out for lunch. He was such a sport! The thrift shop on the way home was a last stop.I purchased a HP printer for $5.00. It works great! I'm really ecstatic about scanning my vintage postcards for you to see. Can't wait till then.We installed the hardware this evening. Won't be long and I'll be scanning everything in sight. Here are some pics of the day. Hugs, Liz

The STONE HOUSE

Driveway
Exit

Barn Window

Front Door
Barn
I saw signs for a Barn Sale today. I'm always happy to see them these days. Well,
when I pulled in the driveway.... I thought I was in HEAVEN! Huge trees leading the way to a stone home. I had to take a breath and Sigh. I was greeted by a Woman and her dog. In conversation I learned. The home was built in 1930 by a French, Canadian Man. In 1940, The Home was purchased by Amy's Dad. That's how old those trees are. Can you believe that.I think I was more interested in the home, more so than the Barn Sale.I asked Amy if I could take some pictures and she of course said YES. She must of thought I was crazy. I believe, I also told her I loved her home and asked her if it was for sale!Flowers( ivy, perennials, annuals.) By now, feeling as if I was in an English countryside waiting to be served some tea. Anyway, Amy was a sweetheart. She told me she rather be gardening than anything else.I did buy a Vintage baby book at the Barn sale and petted her dog goodbye. Thanks Amy, for sharing your diamond in the rough.I hope you enjoy your gardening in the country.I'll be back again one day! Hugs, Liz

Planter Project Complete

BEFORE:
AFTER:
One project completed... more to go! I'm not sure about the plates? What do you think? At least everything I purchased from LOWE'S markdown rack, is thriving. I have a black thumb remember.I planted petunias, morning glory's, impatiens and another pink flower. Not sure what they are? I couldn't save the wicker around the planter. Seemed to be Paper. When I tried to power wash the outside, it started to break. Oh, well! Here are the before and after pics. Now, you can see what I'm talking about.
Good luck on your projects at Home. Hugs, Liz

52 Flea

I had to post this pic. Up late! I think I had too much caffeine. Last Sunday, My Daughter and I went to the 52 Flea. While there we meet "Misty." Too cute, Right?
It was such a hot day. My Daughter said, " Mom let's go!" then we bumpted into Misty and her owner. Her owner said that he put a ice pack under Misty's behind to keep her cool. I tell you what pet owners do for their beloved pets! Misty got the royal treatment that day! Hee, Hee. You never know what you will see at the Flea.Or the people you will meet. See ya, Liz
