Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow...

The beloved pin cushion. Isn't it a beauty? I purchased it for my friend, who makes dolls. To make a long story, short. I have to return it. Back to the thrift shop where I purchased it from. Darn! Before Christmas, I was in my glory to find such a gem. Weeks following my thrifting, I went back to the thrift shop to make a clothing  donation. The woman at the counter asked me if I didn't mind returning the pin cushion. I began to tell her it was a gift. When I asked why, I was told it wasn't for sale. Hum? What? It was a mistake made by one of the volunteers'. A NFS mistake. I didn't want to make a stink at my church's thrift shop but, come now. Good thing I didn't exchange gifts with my girl friend. Then, it would of been out of my hands. Right?
To find out, the pin cushion belonged to one of the volunteers'. She is a Senior citizen who was devoted to the thrift shop. Unfortunately, she doesn't volunteer anymore. She was so saddened that it was sold. Her daughter told her she would see if it could be returned. So, I'm going to wrap it up with a big bow and return it. I have to at this point. Wouldn't you do the same?
Yeah, news travels fast in a small town thrift shop. So much for being a regular! I was told they will refund me my money. At this point, I say keep the change.  Do you have any thrift shop tales? Please share. Till next time....
