edit and update::

Spent part of the day editing and updating my social media accounts eg: twitter, fb, flickr, blogger and so on. All updated so I can check it off my list! you can find me in the garden::

I envy gardeners, farmer types who can grow anything from a tiny seed. Like myself and many others this year is the year.. I'm giving gardening a whirl.
With a little help from the Mr. this project started from the ground up with a make do lumber pile we had on hand ready to roll. Soil with nutrients was purchased in a nearby garden center, fencing was purchased from a junker for $15 bucks huge savings here. Admire the vintage gate? That was a freebie.. yup free! If you follow me on Instagram you can view the #gardendiary and it's progress. Wishing now, I created a mini tutorial on all supplies needed and all measurements so you too can create a veggie garden from scratch. There is so much information out on the web you should do just fine. Try re-purposing materials first it will save you in your pocketbook in the long run. As far as planting goes we've had a spring frost thus far so, my estimated planting and transplanting of my herbs/veggies/flowers will be Memorial Day weekend. It's been a crazy spring weather wise, thank goodness I waited to plant.
I've learned so far having clear cut plans and appropriate tools makes a job a lot easier. Also, garden location is another subject my husband and I rubbed heads several times. He wanted more shade, I wanted full sun. Thinking now, I just want leafy fresh lettuce and basil for pesto. Silly, ha? By the way.. full sun won out in the end!
Like a kid in a candy store, I wanted to purchase every seed packet available to mankind. Eeek, we're just talking about a little garden 10x10 space nothing more. It's very exciting why did I wait so long? Hope your garden is magical this spring. Please do share any gardening trials and triumphs. Thanks for stopping!

Just popping in to say Hello.. and see how things on your end are going. The weather here has been very cold. Hoping there is some sign of spring real soon. The past few days have been sunny which makes me want to nest, organize and of course shoot some pics of random stuff. That's always the case when lighting opportunities arise. It's dreamy and I can't wait to choose my prop or in this case desk accessories with a handful of wax flowers from the market. Aren't they sweet? I'm waiting for those little buds to open so dainty and very purple. I've been a busy bee lately. Working on a little project that I will share with all of you in the next few weeks. just because the moment was right::

Because sometimes the bottom of a serving bowl looks prettier in the morning light. A seldom moment in my kitchen deserving of a photograph. It has been an extremely bitter cold morning. I'm grateful for a warm home and pray for those whom don't have this luxury called heat. We've been tackling the ice situation with salt so, happy we did. Hubby has been joking around with the weather forecast telling me there is more snow coming.. really? yeah crazy man. For now, it's lizlovesvintage camp with staples like a heated blanket, soup and strawberries with whipped cream.. in that order. Hope your winter days are filled with warmth. Another findings post in the works. Back to the kitchen area to square things away while the boys are gone. xoxo Liz

The winter months certainly have been lingering on. I'm ready for spring in a big way. Aren't you? valentine whimsy::

I usually don't decorate for Valentine's day but,  I've been itching to do something crafty with these lovelies that were stored away. Grab some wire, old door knobs and valentines of different sizes. Cut wire to length and wrap making two small loops up top to use as a holder. Twist and adhere to knob using a small piece of aluminum foil inside knob for security, add your favorite valentine. You'll never guess who wants to be your valentine.. ME! a season of change::

It's apparent autumn is here in my neck of the woods and probably in yours too. I'm absorbing this season like many of us do on the East coast. With this new/old season comes changes, uncertainty, new hobbies and a love of baking coming full circle. Did I say hobby? Hiking has been adventurous and even my hubby is enjoying this new found hobby as much as I do. Now, I need to invest in good hiking boots any recommendations? I could sure use some advice in this department thanks! Hope all is well with each and every one of you.

I know, it's been awhile. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. What have you been up to? It's been busy for me these days starting with holiday hoopla, shopping and everything inbetween. I've been inspired by the outdoors this year so, with this in mind my xmas theme this year will carry hints of greens, antlers and of course some vintage. Can't have xmas without it you know right? Since, we're on the xmas topic I had a great opportunity to shoot for Gatherings Mag at HiHoHome Market in Gardiner, NY several weeks ago. tuesday's pop of color::

A rather chilly start to a Tuesday morning.. getting props ready to do a photo shoot in one of my fave little shops close by. Since, fall is slowly fading away I couldn't resist the temptation. Photo from my instagram feed today. Isn't that ornamental cabbage just beautiful? A last minute choice to include some natural harvest from the nursery, the pop of fuchsia says it all. I hope your Tuesday morning is going well. Brr.. it's cold outside.

my morning cup of ny::

   Yesterday's destination was a trip to NYC.. back to my birthplace and the city that never sleeps. Diner images/neon ice cream sign were taken at Lexington Ave luncheonette and Candy shop where my hubby and I shared eggs over easy and a cup of Joe in 1925 style. We ended up at Chelsea Market by the end of the day. First stop, Artists and Fleas for some vintage and handiwork open daily 10-7pm. Then, a tour of the market like typical tourists. If you're a foodie, Chelsea Market is the ultimate hot spot to venture with food choices for all palates. We had a fun day being adventurous. Stop by when you're NYC bound, I recommend it for sure! summer fades::

Luckily, the farmer's market had zinnias this past weekend. How the summer is fading and little signs of fall are appearing. I don't want summer to leave just yet.. plans to do some hiking with my hubby in some trails nearby our home, do some closet arranging and purging, cook up some new recipes that I've been longing to try and maybe fit in the beach. I know, it happens to the best of us. We want to cram in all the wants in such a short period of time. I'll be in and out.. hoping you're having a great summer! xo Liz

     Being on vacation allows me to get things done on my checklist and gears me up for what's new and exciting. As you know, I collaborate with a creative team at Gatherings Magazine.  Queen Anne's lace.. Yes, loving it paired with vintage. These tin portable shot glasses were my hubby's find over a year ago, tucked away we almost forgot about them. I'm on a little blogging break right now.. Time for me to swing into gear with some new projects and inspiration.
