A Visit To The Inn At Twaalfskill::

Seldom, do I forget my camera. Of course, when I need it most. I don't have it. Several weeks ago. Nancy, the Inn at Twaalfskill's proprietor had a garage sale. She usually has a great one in the neighborhood that I try to attend. Like always, Lots of goodies to choose from. Old, new and antique. When, I was ready to leave the Inn. I spotted the Vintage bicycle lineup. No, camera.Oh, Darn!

More Front porch seating
Fall mums and decor
Beautiful baths filled with one of a kind antiques
Vintage bikes for guests to take in the scenery
 Time to relax and take a load off!

On Columbus Day, I decided to stop by again. This time with my handy dandy Canon in hand. Nancy greeted me with open arms. Actually, her arms were busy relocating mums around the property. She graciously gave me a tour of this unbelievable nineteenth century Inn. Set back, in a wooded residential area in my Town. It was like we had known each other for a long time. Instantly, we hit it off and we had lots to talk about. Her love of the Flea, antiques and her work at the Inn. I was a fun outing! I admire her and her Family's dedication to this wonderful destination in the Hudson Valley. Yes, I did get my photograph of the Vintage bikes as seen above.
Thanks, again Nancy for the tour. I'll be talking to you hopefully real soon.

An All American Classic. Show and Tell:

      Thanks Friends for all your well wishes. I'm hoping that this weekend's rest will make me healthy again. I managed the Farmer's market yesterday and a garage sale. Thus, this precious cu pie doll came home with me. An  all American classic. The garage sale said, "Vintage." I could hardly resist the temptation. The mailman even escorted me to the destination. I was a little lost. Mailmen are great Tom, Toms. I'd say. It was just meant to be. My other loot included: Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, frozen charlotte's, a foot stool with attached floral pad. It was a great sale and the weather was just an added bonus. Did you encounter any Vintage treasures this weekend? Mailmen? Enjoy.

Memories In A Suitcase::

As much as a private person, I am on the web. Being home sick for several days makes a girl do a little thinking.
In August, I went to visit Mom. My Mom, My Aunt and Uncle and myself looked at old photos of my Family. Pictures of my Dad, My Mom, Grandparents, Cousins and of course those B&W photos of God knows who? We all laughed, cried and drank some wine together. Reminiscing, the good old days.
Most of all it gave me a sense of being, belonging and pride. My Family had so many obstacles to face while living abroad. For some strange reason, my trip to see Mom this year gave me more understanding about Families and why things happen within them. Sad but true, Families aren't always perfect. We try and in our hearts tell everyone they are. I think this is what makes families a whole. Brings them together even on some days when they are totally apart. Busy, tired, weak, angry, frustrated, sad, happy and frightened.
So, many emotions comes to mind. But, happiness comes from those good memories. Never straying for a single moment.
So, home I went. My luggage full. My Mom worried about my luggage being over weight. My Grandmother's earrings, crochet hooks and yarn in hand. Photos of a lifetime and blessings to those back home.
Now, home I be. That was in August. I still haven't unpacked my luggage. Hubby says, " Liz you need to unpack" I say yes, I do. But, part of me I guess is saving those memories. I hope I can do so real soon.
This morning the photos appeared again. Breathe, cough, cry, cough, sob, cough. I miss you Mom!
Memories flash once again before me.
Now, I ask self what am I going to do with all those photos?
Answer : Save them for another sick day like today.

                   Yes, that's me in the red cowgirl outfit. Ha, Ha!
                                                                              Have a great weekend,

A Spendid Season::

   My thoughts on Fall are quite simple and laid back. Serene and country like. Too quiet for me these past few days. I've been home ill for 2 days now. The sun is shinning through my window and I'm coughing, coughing and coughing. Blah! My Fall decor is still in the attic. No pumpkins or gourds to be found here. I'm a bit sad would you say? So, I made this collage hoping it would cheer me up. Fall will still be here when I get better. Which I know will be real soon. Well, I hope you are enjoying Fall where you are. It's my all time favorite Season. A splendid one!
