a season of change::
It's apparent autumn is here in my neck of the woods and probably in yours too. I'm absorbing this season like many of us do on the East coast. With this new/old season comes changes, uncertainty, new hobbies and a love of baking coming full circle. Did I say hobby? Hiking has been adventurous and even my hubby is enjoying this new found hobby as much as I do. Now, I need to invest in good hiking boots any recommendations? I could sure use some advice in this department thanks! Hope all is well with each and every one of you.
See you on the next climb.. Liz

to new journeys::
Hi how are you? It's certainly been awhile I've been on the blogging scene. So much to do and not enough hours in the day to do all the things I love, one of them blogging.
Behind the scenes I've been putting my thoughts to paper, writing and editing my last article for Gatherings Magazine. Yes, it's very bittersweet and emotional. But, with all things good they don't last forever. It has been an amazing journey to say the least. I have learned so much about the magazine biz and have met some amazing and talented people. It has been surreal... I'm speechless.
I'm eager to start something new. But, for now I'm soaking up some sun, taking some time off and enjoying what Summer brings. It's all good.
Look out for the last issue of Gatherings Magazine via Mac Cloud online sometime this summer. Drop me a line if you have any questions or concerns liz@gatheringsmag.com I would be happy to help you.
I just want to say, thank you for all your support of Gatherings and Lizlovesvintage. I am very grateful for all your wonderful comments and following. Till we meet again!

neutral finds::
Does your summer palate of finds look like this? Or does it have hints of color throughout? The highlight of this past weekend was a visit to an estate sale overlooking the Hudson river. I could move right in this one bedroom summer cottage with wooden beams and leaded glass windows. Kept in the family for over 100 years.. now, it's history and keepsakes are up for sale. I passed up on a few things like vintage wicker, chairs, pottery, books, tools and bric-a- brac.. you know the typical stuff. oh, how I wanted the original hoosier cabinet from the kitchen-NFS
I'm hoping to go back to the estate soon to capture some snap shots of this vintage beauty for you before it goes on the market for sale. To be continued...
By the way, have a great week! Liz

Bad Seed Cider Makes It's Debut::
On Saturday, Bad Seed Cider made it's debut at Fort Greene Park in Brooklyn, NY. Owners: Devin Britton and Albert Wilklow worked collaboratively together in making a dream into a reality. With Albert's farming know how and Devin's flair for food. I knew these guys weren't just shooting the breeze. They were serious on making cider locally with apples grown in the historic Hudson Valley. Finally after all their hard work, Bad Seed Cider is ready for the taking.
Somethings are better when you start small. For now, the guys are making cider in these varieties: Belgian Witte Cider, Dry Hard Cider, Raspberry Cider, India Pale Cider, Belgian Abbey Cider.
.... and rumor of Blueberry coming soon!
When I asked Devin, who by the way is my Son- In- Law. What the philosophy of Bad Seed Cider is he replied, "I would have to think about that." Right now, they are just enjoying making hard cider and having fun doing it.
Interested in learning more about Bad Seed Cider Co.

A Visit To The Inn At Twaalfskill::
Front porch
More Front porch seating
Fall mums and decor
Beautiful baths filled with one of a kind antiques
Vintage bikes for guests to take in the scenery
Time to relax and take a load off! On Columbus Day, I decided to stop by again. This time with my handy dandy Canon in hand. Nancy greeted me with open arms. Actually, her arms were busy relocating mums around the property. She graciously gave me a tour of this unbelievable nineteenth century Inn. Set back, in a wooded residential area in my Town. It was like we had known each other for a long time. Instantly, we hit it off and we had lots to talk about. Her love of the Flea, antiques and her work at the Inn. I was a fun outing! I admire her and her Family's dedication to this wonderful destination in the Hudson Valley. Yes, I did get my photograph of the Vintage bikes as seen above. Thanks, again Nancy for the tour. I'll be talking to you hopefully real soon. For more B&B information go to: www.innattwaalfskill.com/ Enjoy the mini tour! Liz:)

A Spendid Season::
My thoughts on Fall are quite simple and laid back. Serene and country like. Too quiet for me these past few days. I've been home ill for 2 days now. The sun is shinning through my window and I'm coughing, coughing and coughing. Blah! My Fall decor is still in the attic. No pumpkins or gourds to be found here. I'm a bit sad would you say? So, I made this collage hoping it would cheer me up. Fall will still be here when I get better. Which I know will be real soon. Well, I hope you are enjoying Fall where you are. It's my all time favorite Season. A splendid one!

Dinner Date With Hubby and Hudson
Lately, my hubby and I have been picnicking along the Hudson River. Would you believe it was his idea? Last Saturday after lots of cleaning, errands, etc. etc. He said," Let's get a bite to eat and go picnic by the river." So, I am happy to announce we picnicked again today. I guess it's a tradition now. I'm dating 2 men at the moment. My Husband and Hudson. Hudson is the silent type and very good looking! Hubby's not bad either but, is a talker.I adore them both. Ha, ha! The weather was simply gorgeous, this evening riverside. I hope we can have a few more picnics before it gets to cold. It's the little things that make me happy. Hope you had a great day too. Adventures of The Italian Singer
The rail trail is behind my home. Every morning I would hear Italian singing coming from the trail, from a biker along the path. I would chuckle, as I would sip my coffee on my deck.The question is, who is the Italian singer? As the Summer months came upon us.The absence of the Italian singer was evident. I missed my morning concert. Aw!! Till, Saturday morning. The singer appeared with his loud serenade. My Husband even laughed, never hearing him before. I'm glad he came back and is able to sing to us. Till we meet again.Bravo! Thank you for a wonderful concert. We had great seats and are looking forward to more singing from the trail.You put a Smile on our face:) Do you have a backyard story to share? Leave a comment.Back to School tomorrow! Have a great week ahead.
Sincerely,
Liz
