Thrifting Tips::

Hi There, I hope you are having a great week so far. I figured I would post this information just in case you needed it.
                                    In Response to Cityfarmer's Question:

                                     Do you haggle at your thrift shop?
                                                              OR
                                      Can you haggle at a thrift shop?

 Answer: I don't want to confuse you guys. At most thrift shops prices are marked clearly. Unless, they have a sale of sorts for example: Bag sale or Color coded sale depending on week. So, my answer is a NO. Here's my but, check shop's Policy. Some thrift stores post their policy right at the check out for view. Did you know that?
     Here's my rule of thumb #1. If there is No Policy posted, GO FOR IT! Haggle Away. Rule of thumb # 2. If an item is over priced or you think mismarked. ASK??? It doesn't hurt. What is the worst thing that could happen. They will tell you, "NO!"  Rule of thumb #3. Once you become a regular customer your foots in the door.. Haggle for a better deal. By now you know the Staff by name. I have even given volunteers a verbal list of things I'm looking for. Do you know they are more than happy to help you out. Their job is to sell and Customers want to buy. So, haggle on :)
              I hope this answered your Question.
              Enjoy your fun journey of thrifting.

PS. Yes, Cityfarmer I haggle at my thrift shop!
PSS. Shops ;)

Christmas Thrift Finds::

          Here's all my Loot, as they say when it comes to thrifting.

Two weekends,  5 Thrift Shops later..... Plus, a big ticket item. Sorry, I can't reveal the secret on here. It's a Christmas present for a special someone.  My pickings are slim when it comes to Vintage Christmas decor. Not much of a selection to choose from thrifting. Also, I patiently wait for good deals and those seem harder to come by these days. Silly me, thinking I can still get a bargain. Yeah, sometimes.
      I did pass up a box of 12 hot pink shiny brites. I'm just not a hot pink kinda gal. If you know what I mean ;)
                                            Have a wonderful week ahead,
                                                                     xxx Liz

* I'm linking up with Kathleen @ Faded Charm. It's White Wednesday. I'll see you there :)

Thrifting ::

When I can, I love to thrift. It's just pure luck what comes home with me. This weekend it was vintage ball jelly jars. Pure and simple as that.Now my wheels start turning and thinking about jams and jelly. That would be fun. If only I had more time.No fussing here now! On to the flea today to see what treasures I can find. First comes first. Coffee!
                       Have a wonderful weekend all.

Thrift Shop Finds ::

A Collection of  Pocket Books
Beautiful Floral Covers
Cut Glass
                     When there is threat of a Winter storm, just stop at a thrift shop and all your worries will be gone. So, that is just what I did today. I didn't find much, but feel in love with these.
                      The wine glasses are cut glass. So dainty and delicate, I couldn't pass them up. Even better they match the ones I already have. A small Collection of " Pocket Books." I'm sure, you have seen these before? Great finds before the 7th snow storm? I've lost track. Have a great Thursday.

                                                                   Hugs,

Twice Blessed

So, funny!! I think my BFF and I have ESP. I called my friend Stephanie
this morning. A Estate sale that was listed on Craigslist seemed exciting.A vision of a big house with lots of vintage came to mind. She was thinking the same thing! So, away we went with lots of hope it was going to be fantastic. Ok, but not what we imagined. Driving around New Paltz, NY. I remembered Twice Blessed Thriftshop close by.Us Gals get around you know!! Yes, I brought my camera.The day ended with lunch, dollar store and great laughs. Thanks Friend! Had a great time as always.
Hugs, Liz
